Puresta's $3.7M pre-seed bets on AI-driven dermatology as a D2C category
The round signals investor appetite for outcome-driven skincare at the intersection of beauty and health.
Puresta, a beauty and personal care startup, closed a pre-seed round of $3.7M led by Spring Marketing Capital in February 2026. The company plans to launch an AI-powered, full-stack dermatology platform offering end-to-end skincare solutions including AI diagnostics, dermatologist-formulated products, clinical validation, and real-time progress tracking. Ahead of the launch, Puresta acquired HealthQ Life Science, the parent company of D2C skincare brand SKINQ, which was founded by Dr. Chytra Anand in 2021. The acquisition was structured to strengthen Puresta’s product pipeline and technology infrastructure. Puresta was founded in 2025 by Ashish Mishra, Hitesh Dhingra, and Bhisham Bhateja. Dhingra and Bhateja are cofounders of The Man Company, a D2C BPC brand in which Emami Group acquired a 49.5% stake in 2024.
The round reflects a shift in the skincare category toward outcome-driven, ingredient-focused products rather than influencer-led hype. The Indian BPC space has seen significant competition in recent years, but consumer preference is reportedly moving toward uncomplicated, single-step routines with measurable results. Puresta’s bet is to integrate SKINQ’s dermatologist-formulated products with its AI platform to deliver personalized skincare regimens and track results in real time, positioning itself at the intersection of clinical validation and consumer convenience.
Key open questions remain unresolved. Details on the broader investor syndicate beyond Spring Marketing Capital were not disclosed in early reporting. The mechanics of how Puresta plans to scale AI diagnostics while maintaining dermatologist involvement, and whether the acquisition of SKINQ represents the primary go-to-market route or one of several, are worth watching. Similarly, the extent to which Puresta’s affiliation with The Man Company and Emami’s ecosystem will shape distribution and capital access is an open question as the platform scales beyond launch.
