01 / CHECKING A GARMENT
Has this garment been checked before?
A garment might pass, need a repair or return for another check. The next operator needs to know which piece they’re handling and what has already happened to it.
Missed scans, mixed bundles, wrong tags and device interruptions all need a way to recover. The software has to work with the procedures people follow on the floor.
02 / LABEL EACH GARMENT
Give the garment a scannable label.
A QR or barcode label links each garment to its record. The printed label includes the style, size, lot and garment identifiers.

Label generation, printing and the physical garment tag.
03 / RECORD THE INSPECTION
Scan the label. Record the check.
Scanning brings up the garment record. The operator can then choose the inspection result or the type of repair it needs.

FROM PAPER TO THE FLOOR
The early flow shows sign-in by role, scanning, style details and inspection results.
Large buttons keep pass, alteration and the other repair categories easy to find during inspection.
The flow also handles scans that don’t match a garment record.
04 / REWORK IS PART OF THE FLOW
Keep earlier checks after a repair.
A repaired garment goes through inspection again. If it passes, the record still shows that it needed alteration and was checked before.
01
Inspect
Scan the garment and record the inspection decision.
02
Route to repair
Identify the defect and send the piece for the required work.
03
Inspect again
Scan the same garment when it returns from alteration.
04
Keep its history
Keep the final status connected to the earlier inspection.
Documented in the end-line SOP: alteration, reinspection and a “Passed after Alteration” history state.
05 / THE QUALITY DASHBOARD
See quality checks across the floor.
The dashboard updates automatically and can be filtered by brand, operator, warehouse or workstation. It also provides the shared TV view used on the factory floor.

Current pass
Where garments stand now.
First-time pass
Which garments passed on their first inspection.
Ever in alteration
Which garments needed rework along the way.
MY ROLE / WITH THE ZYOD TEAM
My role with the ZYOD team.
I led the QC initiative with a product manager and two engineers, working with operations on the rollout. We took it from one pilot line to all 12 production lines in four months.
The screens have to work on the floor.
We rebuilt scanning in React Native when mobile web cameras proved unreliable. Starting with one production line let us resolve problems with supervisors before expanding across the factory.
